Folk Digital Archive Fellow
The Fellow Program of the Folk Digital Archive by Centre for Folklore Studies & Research (CFSR) is a hybrid program lasting for 6 months from August 2026 to January 2027. This program is for students, researchers, artists, and people who are passionate about learning about and preserving the cultural heritage and folk cultures of India.

About the Fellowship
Are you passionate about folklore, cultural heritage, digital storytelling, and community documentation? Join the Folk Digital Archive Fellow Programme offered by the Centre for Folklore Studies and Research (CFSR) and contribute to preserving India’s living cultural traditions for future generations.As a Fellow, you will gain hands-on experience in digital archiving, folklore documentation, metadata creation, and cultural research while working alongside scholars, artists, researchers, and cultural practitioners. The Folk Digital Archive Fellow will work with CFSR to document, digitize, and preserve India’s diverse folk traditions in a digital repository accessible to scholars, artists, communities, and the wider public.

What You Will Do
- Document folk traditions through audio, video, photography, and field documentation.
- Organize, catalogue, and manage materials for the digital archive.
- Engage with folk communities with respect, sensitivity, and ethical responsibility.
- Contribute to research, metadata creation, and storytelling initiatives.
- Assist in website content development and digital archive management.
- Support seminars, workshops, lectures, and digital initiatives organized by CFSR.
