Our network aims to promote critical analysis of folklore and to facilitate collaboration and communication among scholars, educators, artists, and members. We seek to foster a deeper understanding of the significance of folklore in shaping cultural identities, social practices, and artistic expression and to promote the preservation and appreciation of folk traditions worldwide. Through our research, teaching, and outreach activities, we aim to advance knowledge, promote diversity, and engage in dialogue with diverse audiences about the role of folklore in contemporary society. We encourage the representation of underrepresented groups and perspectives in the study of folklore and promote inclusivity and diversity.
We organise conferences, workshops, and seminars to facilitate discussion and exchange of ideas related to folklore studies. We also provide resources and training for teachers and educators on how to incorporate folklore studies into their curricula. We promote the use of digital technologies in the study and preservation of folklore and support the establishment of folklore archives and museums.

Centre for Folklore Studies and Research is composed of scholars, educators, artists, and community members from all over the world who are interested in the interdisciplinary study of folklore. Our members come from a wide range of disciplines, including anthropology, history, literature, music, art, and cultural studies, among others.
Our community includes established scholars with decades of experience in folklore studies, as well as early career scholars and graduate students who are just starting to explore the field. We also welcome non-academic members, including artists, community activists, and enthusiasts who are interested in folklore and its various manifestations. As a network, we value diversity, inclusivity, and collaboration. We believe that the interdisciplinary nature of folklore studies requires a broad range of perspectives and approaches, and we welcome members from all backgrounds and disciplines. Our network is run by a volunteer steering committee composed of members who are elected by the general membership. The steering committee is responsible for organizing events, coordinating activities, and promoting the goals and objectives of the network.
